Rae Cooper for Branch Committee
I am Professor of Gender, Work and Employment Relations in the Business School. I joined the University in 2000 as a full-time Level A. I am proud to work here.
I have been an active member of the union for 30 years since joining as a casual tutor in the mid-1990s. I have been a consistent advocate for good jobs and sustainable workloads and for a thriving, well-funded sector.
During my career here I have:
taught thousands of bright coursework students and supervised many talented PhDs;
been a member of significant committees;
been elected to lead local and international scholarly associations;
become a leader in industrial relations scholarship, especially in gender equality at work.
I am known by my peers as an institution builder and a strategic, collaborative, and supportive colleague.
Our union should represent and welcome all of us. It should not be beholden to sectional interests.
NTEU Renewal covers diverse views and approaches; we can cooperate to improve the environment for all staff. Please help renew the union, so we can renew the University.
I support Peter Chen for Branch President.
